A few years ago Joalien Kruger started working at a local animal-shelter as a veterinary nurse. Joalien left after 2 years.
She just could not stand how they were putting one innocent and healthy animal after the next to sleep. One year before she left, Joalien adopted a puppy from their shelter and named her Bella.
Bella was definitely not the perfect dog. She barked and chewed her children's shoes and chased the cat, but she proved herself worthy one dreadful night.
When she was only 11 months old Joalien's house was robbed one night. Bella chased them out of her daughter's room and into the street. Unfortunately she chased them right into a very busy road.
The thieves managed to jump into their awaiting car and spun away over Bella. She was killed instantly.
And now a few years later Joalien decided to start this animal rescue in honour of their beloved Bella to insure that other orphaned and abandoned animals receive their second chance!
